TEACHERS' CONCERN OVER "EXPIRY OF TEACHING LICENSES".

News Image

Teaches Council of Malawi has noted the misinformation that is being spread on social media about "expired teaching licenses" and WOUId like to address the issue as follows:

1. Teaching licenses are valid for three (3) years and as such, there are no licenses that have expired so far.

2. TCM agreed that teachers can pay for their 3-year licenses upfront or in 3 consecutive years in form of annual subscriptions.

When the next annual subscription is due, the TCM online platform sends messages to teachers to remind them to pay. This does not mean that the license has expired, rather the annual subscription is the one that has expired.

I would like to call upon teachers to reach out to TCM Officers on 0994261132 and 0992037245 if they have any questions or have not yet accessed their registration certificates and licenses.

TCM will address all challenges pertaining to teacher registration and licenses before introducing the Teacher Tracking System. The Teacher Tracking System will enable TCM to track all teachers who will not be available in the online system and take appropriate measures on them. This is in accordance with the Education Act (2013) section 64.

May I request all the Education Division Managers and Directors of Education and Sports, Unions and Private Schools Organizations to make this communication available to all teachers in Public and Private ECD Centers, Primary and Secondary schools and Colleges.

For more information, you can contact the TCM Registrar on 0999233667 or email registrar@teacherscouncil.mw
